4. Playboy of the West Indies

Peggy Ford runs a rum bar for her father Mikey in Mayaro, a small fishing village on the south-east coast of Trinidad. Mayaro is, to put it mildly, off the beaten track and if you were to say that nothing ever happens there you might, with reason, be accused of exaggeration. Imagine, therefore, if you will, the effect on all concerned when a handsome young stranger appears and insists that he has just murdered his father.

5. Trelawny of the Wells

Rose Trelawny, the beautiful young star of 'The Wells', decides to quit a promising career on the stage to marry into 'the quality'.

6. Molière

Moliere is seen at the beginning as an imposing, confident theatre director, playfully wooing his mistress; but we watch him disintegrate before our eyes.
