Northern folk music from the time of Edward Bunting in the late 1700s, to the great song collections of the early 20th century by Sam Henry and Énrí Ó Muirgheasa, to the beginning of the civil rights movement in the 1960s.
2. Episode 2
Northern folk music from the outbreak of the Civil Rights Movement, through the 1970s and 80s, an era often referred to as the Troubles, which is also regarded as the golden age of traditional song in Ulster.
3. Episode 3
Northern folk music from the 1990s, which saw the rise of traditional northern supergroups such as Altan, Déanta, Tamalin, Lá Lugh, At First Light and Flook. With the changes in pub licences in the mid-90s, along with a new era of peace, live folk and traditional music established a new and lasting platform in Ulster to the present day.
