Sam has a run-in with an old friend while auditioning for a new film set up by Bryan. Sam reconsiders his opinion about his career choices after walking through another set.

Difficult decisions are made as reflections come to light. Max relates some tragic news to Christina. Doc makes his wishes known in Violet's absence.

Sam struggles to strike a balance between work and life now that he is filming his dream role as an action hero in addition to starring in Hearts on Fire. Doc, hiding his opiate addiction, argues with Sam in an attempt to push him away.

Gloria goes up against the network to keep Hearts of Fire from being canceled. Sam blows up when his first interview for Maximum Velocity II goes sideways. Jacob Y makes a shifty move to take control.

14. Maximum Velocity

Sam gets blasted after taking bad advice from his action film co-star, Shelby. Shelby feels trapped when Dennis makes it clear that she's got to pay to play. Delilah puts Sam in check about her paternity.

15. Stick to the Script

Sam's past and present intertwine in an unexpected way. Nick uses Sam's absence from Hearts on Fire to his advantage.

16. The Real Me

Sam faces the harsh reality of what it means to be an actor in Hollywood. An emotional Shelby confides in Sam about the ultimate sacrifice she's made for fame.

Gloria and Jacoby Y form an alliance to save Hearts on Fire, and themselves. While facing Doc's mortality, Sam and Doc find a peaceful co-existence. Seeking to right his past wrongs, Sam gets vulnerable with Delilah.
