Shannon anticipates working for a paying client, a contractor whose employee is charged with manslaughter.

Shannon gets involved in a small town child-custody dispute in which grandparents have taken a 6-year-old from the aunt attempting an adoption.

Shannon's estranged father seeks justice for a disgruntled dockworker friend arrested in a shootout after learning he was cheated out of his union pension.
